6 Tricks That Will Fix Your Chastity Cage Slide Troubles

Chastity Cages on the Beach

Realizing you can get out of your chastity cage without needing the key is a disappointing discovery. But try not to stress. Chastity cage slide is a common and frustrating problem, with entire Reddit threads and forum posts dedicated to finding a reliable, long-term fix.

So if you’re struggling to keep your cage in place, we’ve got you. Not only that, we’re going to troubleshoot the problem and find a fix that will keep your cage exactly where it should be.

Fix 1: Check Your Measurements

Shopping for a cage isn’t like clothes shopping. Buying a pair of pants that are slightly too big or small is no big deal because they can be easily adjusted.

But cages don’t come with the same flexibility, which is why it’s important to measure yourself accurately before you make a purchase. You should then check your measurements against the device’s dimensions.

But how do you know if an oversized cage is causing the problem? Easy.

  • Remeasure yourself. Use our chastity measurement guide if you’re not sure how to do this.
  • Look again at the dimensions of the device you bought. You’ll find them on the product packaging or the website where you bought your cage.
  • Compare your measurements with the device’s. Do they match?

If your cage is the wrong fit, you have a couple of choices.

  • Check to see whether the manufacturer makes additional rings or tubes that are compatible with your device so you can replace the part that’s too big.
  • Refer to the returns policy, and exchange it for a cage that’s a better fit.
  • Wear your cage with supportive underwear. It will hold the cage in place.

Fix 2: Consider Downsizing

Did your cage once fit well but now slips off? You may also be in the ‘it’s too big camp’, but for different reasons. You may be experiencing chastity shrinkage and need to downsize. You’re more likely to experience this if you’ve been practicing chastity for years, or do long stretches without unlocking.

Chastity shrinkage is the apparent decrease in penis size. It’s attributed to penile atrophy. The penis isn’t being used, and doesn’t have a chance to stretch or work. So it shrinks to its true flaccid proportions.

There’s no medical evidence to suggest the inches vanish into thin air. And it’s widely accepted to be a temporary state. Like any muscle, once it’s given a workout it can grow back to its original size. But in the meantime, if you still want to wear a cage then downsizing to a small or inverted cage should fix your ‘fall out’ problem.

Fix 3: Switch From a Cage to a Belt

If you keep running into issues when wearing a cage, you might consider wearing a chastity belt instead. Fitting around the waist and legs like underwear, they’re often more secure than ball-trap cage devices. And you don’t need to be so pedantic about measurements either. Most belts are fully adjustable, making it easier to find a good fit.

Not ready to give up the cage? Then couple it with a belt for some of the extra underwear support I mentioned.

Fix 4: Try a Tetherspout

Urethral play isn’t for everyone. But if you’re comfortable with it, you may want to consider adding a tetherspout to your device set-up.

Measuring roughly 2-4 cm, and available in a variety of thicknesses, this small sounding device is inserted just inside the urethra, and works like a shirt button going through a buttonhole. A metal ring sits horizontally inside the penis, anchoring it in place. The tetherspout is then locked through the pee-hole opening of your cage. It’s now impossible for you to escape or for the cage to fall off.

Tetherspouts aren’t my area of expertise. And I’ve never actually used one. If this lock-in method interests you, please do your research first. There are dedicated tetherspout retailers and blogs that offer detailed information about how to correctly (and safely) insert, wear, remove, and clean them.

Fix 5: Keep It in Place With a Prince Albert

Getting your cock pierced isn’t every guy’s cup of tea. But if you’re open to the idea then a Prince Albert is, reportedly, a highly effective anti-pull-out chastity method.

It works in much the same way as a tetherspout: the end of the piercing bar or ring is locked outside the cage. Some cages include specially designed Prince Albert padlocks with a piercing bar included. Either end of the bar fits into the locking mechanism, securing it in place.

Fix 6: Where There’s Willpower, There’s a Way

Hopefully one of the first 5 ‘fall out’ fixes will solve your problem. But if you’re not feeling any of those, then as a last resort you could try going cage free. To succeed you’ll need to build your mental strength so you stick to your chastity pledge. (And limiting hard ons will be… well, even harder.)

Chastity isn’t just a physical fetish that involves wearing a cage. You’ll need to tap into that belief as you enhance your mental toughness.

Some ways to start working on that include:

  • Setting a clear chastity goal you want to work towards, and reminding yourself of that goal daily.
  • Preparing yourself for failure, and understanding how you can use it as a lesson to toughen your resolve.
  • Surrounding yourself with like-minded people so you have strength in numbers. Chastity forums and BDSM groups may be good sources of support.
  • Focussing on the positives of your day-to-day cage-free life.

Having other interests to occupy your mind (and hands) could also help. For example, you might throw your energy into exercise or meditation, or pick up a new hobby.

Falling out Is a Fixable Problem

Falling out of your chastity cage shouldn’t be confused with escaping, which is a conscious choice. (And one a keyholder will likely punish you for.) Falling out is unwanted and unavoidable, which means finding ways to minimize the risk.

Making sure your cage fits properly is the first step. It should be snug but not too tight, and definitely not so loose that you slip out of it. Beyond that, investing in supportive underwear, re-evaluating whether to use a cage or a belt, or considering other more intrusive options, are the most reliable fixes.

Michael is the author of the Total Chastity Diary and has been in and out of chastity since his mid-thirties. He’s now 41. He lives and works in Boston, has a white-collar job, and is single by choice.

“There’s nothing hugely special about me. I’d describe myself as your typical modern, forward-thinking guy. I enjoy sports, staying healthy, love my family and friends, and have a satisfying career that pushes me to work hard so I can enjoy some of life's luxuries.

I’m whatever constitutes as “normal.” It just so happens that I also enjoy the feeling of putting my cock in a cage, leaving it there for a week or two, then reaping the benefits of being released from my cage.

Starting my chastity journey felt like starting any other new hobby or interest. I wanted to make sure I was doing it right and had good equipment to help me achieve the results I wanted. But when I began looking into male chastity and cock cages, what I found was a lot of fetish talk.

While I accept this is what male chastity means for some - dressing up as a sissy, being spanked by a Dominant and whatever - the kinky kicks aren’t what I’m into.

My hope with the Total Chastity  Diary is to bring a more matter-of-fact voice to chastity experiences.”
